Type Locality and Naming

Includes in East Pshart. It was distinguished in 1967 by V. I. Dronov, recently studied by I. A. Gusev (1972).

Synonym: Buguchinskaya Suite (Бугучинскаясвита свита)

Lithology and Thickness

It consists of red-colored sandstones up to 200-400 m thick, containing lenses of red-colored gravel and conglomerates.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It lies with a distinct angular unconformity on the Paleozoic and Mesozoic beds.

Upper contact

It is conformably overlain by red-colored rocks of the Yamantash Fm -Tashkulyak Fm (яманташской-ташка.11якской свит), conditionally of multi-age.

Regional extent

It is widespread in the Central Pamir in the basins of the Western and Eastern Pshart rivers, Buguchidzhilga, and others.

Fossils

In the Buguchin Fm, spores and pollen of a Paleogene appearance have been found.


Age 

On the basis of fossil data which its Paleogene age is presumably determined (Gusev, 1972; Gusev et al., 1972). Hence for schematic stratigraphic representation it is considered as Chattian for lexicon.
